There haven’t been many new sequels that I would honestly say are better than the original game. Theres always something to complain about; the original game carries a charm that just couldn’t be emulated again for some reason. It lacks the genuineness of the original. It feels like a quick cash-in. Seeing “2” in a title often carries a feeling of optimistic dread– “OK, this is going to be the game where the sequel is good, if not better than the original.” It almost never is.
Portal 2 is one of those exceptions.
